All Town of Lyons Recreation Classes are offered with the following safety precautions:
1. Class sizes are smaller to allow for social distancing if necessary.
2. Classes follow state, county and local Covid-19 guidelines.
3. Please do not attend class if you are feeling unwell.
Special Programs and Happenings
Summer Artisan Market
Join us in Bohn Park for our 2nd annual Summer Artisan Market. Sign up today to sell your quality creations in a lovely outdoor setting along the St Vrain Creek in Lyons. Each vendor will receive room for a 10' x 10' booth space with plenty of space in between booths for shoppers to browse. Tables may be in sun or shade depending on the time of day. Shade tents are allowed, with water weights or sandbags to hold them down. Staking in the turf is not permitted. This event is planned to run in conjunction with the Lyons Community Foundation BBQ and cook-off and will feature live entertainment.
Vendors are responsible for obtaining a Special Event License from the state, as well as filing their special event sales tax return following the event.

Creative Youth Booth at the Summer Artisan Market
Calling all creative kids, ages 6 through high school! If you have artistic creations that you'd like to sell, you can sign up for a spot at our Creative Youth Booth. We have two hour time slots available, 10 am - noon, noon - 2 pm, and 2 - 4 pm. Children ages 6 - 12 should have a parent on site while they are at the booth. Booth space is FREE at the Creative Youth Booth.

Multi Use Sport Court Reservations
New for 2022, the Multi Use Sport Court at Bohn Park will be open for reservations on an hourly basis. The court can be used for basketball, tennis, and pickleball. Users must provide their own equipment, including a net for pickleball. The court is now available for reservations at the rate of $7 an hour. A maximum of three 1 hour reservations are allowed per person, per week. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Reservations are automatically canceled if the reserving party is 15 minutes or more late for their scheduled time slot. Please bring proof of your reservation to the court in case someone else is using the court at your scheduled time. There are no refunds for missed or canceled court reservations. Courts may not be reserved for private lessons of any type where there is payment for services. Special permitting is required for this type of court use. Groups that wish to use the court free of charge can make reservations as long as their group is open to the public. Such use of the court will be advertised on this recreation page and open to all. Please use the contact information above to reserve for these types of use.

Holiday Artisan Market
Please join us this coming December for the Lyons Holiday Artisan Market. Just like in the days of yore, the market is likely to be held in the Lyons Elementary School gym on the same weekend as the Parade of Lights. Come sell your lovingly crafted wares alongside other quality craft vendors. Vendors are selected to participate based on the quality of their craft and effort is made to offer a balanced variety of wares. Booths are assigned on a first come first served basis.

Adult Coed Recreational Softball
The league is back again this summer with an even longer season. Grab your teammates, get out that old leather glove, and head to the ballfields for some exercise and FUN! This summer we are offering an 11 week season with 10 weeks of regular games and the last week of playoff games. Depending on how many teams we have, your team may have a by week. Players register individually and can request team mates and coaches. No experience is necessary to play. If you are a free agent we will find a team for you. Players provide all their own gear. Lyons provides the fields, game balls, and an umpire. Practice times are determined by team coaches or managers. There is a $400 team registration fee in addition to the individual fee.

Drop In Pickleball
Come get in on the fun! The Multisport Court at Bohn Park is where the action is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday all summer long. Bring a racquet and a ball if you have one. Open to anyone old enough to play.

Drop In Soccer Games
Join us for some friendly rivalry and fun! These drop in games are strictly for the big kids (teens and adults) and are open to all skill levels. Drop by anytime during the open hours.

Kid's Mountain Biking
Led by Boulder Jr Cycling Head Coach Lester Pardoe, this class is designed for beginner and intermediate riders. Come join in the fun and learn some great skills too. This class includes instruction on braking, shifting, cornering, balance, drops and step-up, pumping and jumping, and trail etiquette. The class will begin at the Bohn Park Dirt Jump Park and move on to local trails. Come on a ready-to-ride mountain bike, wearing a helmet and appropriate footwear, and bring a water bottle. Please make sure your kid's bike is in excellent working order before the first class.

Women's Mountain Biking
Lyons own former Olympian Ann Trombley is back with more fun classes for summer. Specific classes are described below. All participants need to arrive with a mountain bike in good working order, a helmet and a water bottle, and dressed for changing weather conditions. Get ready to have a great time on the trails!
Beginner/Intermediate Class: Geared towards both beginners and intermediate riders, this class is sure to improve your technique. Skills covered include neutral ready and braking, wheel lifts, climbing and descending, and cornering at low and high speeds
Intermediate/Advanced Class: This class is for those with a bit of experience and will review the skills above and move on to ratcheting, switchbacks, rock dodge, track stands, and tight corners. The class wraps up with level lifts, roll down lunges, small lunges, and wheelies.
Ages: adults and teens aged 15+
Dates: Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7:15 pm, Beginner/Intermediate Class, June 1 - 22 AND/OR Intermediate/Advanced Class, August 3 - 24 Location: Bohn Park parking lot, 199 2nd Ave

Senior Exercise Group
Come join our senior exercise group and have fun and improve your fitness while enjoying stimulating conversation. On Tuesdays we'll do some exercises involving hand weights and bands, along with some aerobics. Chairs will be available for those who prefer to sit and exercise. On Thursdays we start off with a 30 minute walk. Walkers are encouraged to go at their own pace and all exercises can be modified to accommodate any fitness level. Both classes will end with some gentle stretching and yoga. Don't forget to bring a water bottle and you may bring your own hand weights and yoga mat if you prefer. This class meets at the Walt Self building. If the weather's nice we'll grab some hand weights and head outside to exercise in the fresh air (Tuesdays) or head out for our walk (Thursdays) before heading back to WS for yoga. If the weather is very cold/wet/snowy we'll have class indoors. This class is taught by Lisa Ramsey.

Summer Camps and Classes
Square State Skate's Summer Lessons
Over this weeklong program, participants will learn how to safely progress while having fun on a skateboard. We welcome skaters of all ages and skill levels to join us as we work on everything from learning how to stand and roll on your skateboard to challenging yourself with tricks. Build up to advanced park riding as we explore all of the different features of the Lyons Skatepark at Bohn Park. We will skate together, play some skate-related games, learn about skateboarding history, and enjoy the unique and active skateboarding community. Run by professional educators, Square State Skate has more experience engaging youth, directing programs and skating with kids than any other program around. Our commitment to families and the community is paramount and our techniques are unmatched when it comes to helping kids grow and learn, both on and off of their skateboard. Please bring a skateboard (let us know if you need a loaner), helmet (other pads recommended), water bottle, sunscreen and some good energy.

Square State Skate's Summer Skate Camps
Learn how to be safe and have fun on your skateboard while riding some of the best parks in the Front Range. We'll skate our “home park” in the morning – the Team Pain-built Lyons Skatepark - before jumping on our Skate Bus to check out different parks in the area, explore a variety of terrain and visit multiple skater-owned skate shops. Explore all the different areas of street and skatepark riding, from safety and etiquette to advanced park riding. We will also go swimming once a week. Come make new friends, have fun, and be a part of our active skateboard community. Please bring a skateboard (let us know if you need a loaner), helmet (other pads recommended), a healthy lunch, water bottle, sunscreen and some good energy.

Challenger Soccer Camp
Challenger Sports will bring their popular International Soccer Camp back to Lyons this summer. The coaches channel their energy and passion for the game into a fun and developmental environment. Challenger uses age appropriate practices to help players develop at their own pace, learn brand new skills and become an all-around better player, all while having an amazing time with their international coaching staff. This camp has offerings for kids from 3 - 14. Campers receive a free ball and t-shirt at camp. A free jersey is sent to those who register early.
