Bohn Park Trail Closure

Saturday, May 25 through Friday, May 31

Beginning on Saturday, May 25, the eastern trail along Bohn Park will be closed to pedestrian and bike traffic. The closed area includes the full stretch between the 2nd Avenue entrance (near the Bohn Park tennis court) and the dog park, and will remain closed throughout the week.

In an effort to make up for lost time, due to recent unworkable weather conditions, both the skatepark contractor, Team Pain, and the Phase II contractor, Walsh Construction, will work through the weekend; specifically, Walsh will be widening the eastern trail, as part of the Phase II project. This work also entails the removal of a few trees on the east side of the trail, across from the multipurpose field. The uprooted trees will be replaced with new trees in a different location within the Phase II project area.

Dog Park

During this closure, the only access into the park is via the outlot, off Welch Drive. Because Town rules disallow dogs on the multipurpose fields, dog park visitors are asked to walk along the west side of the multipurpose field, to access the dog park.

Street Sweeping

To begin Tuesday, May 28

Due to mechanical issues and inclement weather (thanks for that, Mother Nature..), Town-wide street sweeping has been rescheduled again, and will now begin on Tuesday, May 28, ~weather permitting~. Depending on weather, the sweeping could be completed by the end of the week; ~or~ inclement weather may require sweeping to occur over nonconsecutive days, which could last up to two weeks.

The route will follow the Town's snow priority schedule. The sweeping may kick up dust, so we recommend closing street-facing windows during the day.

Please do not park vehicles along these roads during sweeping. We appreciate your help!

Community Conversation on Mental Health: Anxiety

Tuesday, May 28 | 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Lyons Community Church

The Lyons Mental Health Initiative will be hosting a Community Conversation on dealing with anxiety, on Tuesday, May 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Lyons Community Church. The event offers a safe space for attendees to learn about ways to cope with anxiety, and provide support to others who are anxious.

Boulder County Parks & Open Space will now start sending email and text alerts when trails open and close. Users can sign up to receive notifications directly at boco.org/trailalerts.

Trails close due to muddy conditions, seasonal wildlife closures, or other safety reasons. Closure alerts will continue to be posted on the Parks & Trails page, each individual property page, and the Trail Closures, Notices, Alerts & Conditions page.
