Information for Stone Canyon Residents and Businesses
Wednesday, August 7, 2024 4 6:00 PM The National Weather Service and the Town of Lyons recommend that residents and businesses in the Stone Canyon neighborhood, including unincorporated Boulder County enroll in and pay special attention to the National Weather Service Alert System, based in Boulder.
The forecast over the next several days calls for the threat of strong localized rain events which may cause localized flash flooding due to the Stone Canyon burn scar. If you are impacted, you will receive a reverse 911 call. Residents and businesses in that area are advised to move to higher ground (including a higher floor in your home), should localized, flash-flooding occur. Do not drive to lower areas.
At this time, the Town does not anticipate the town wide siren system to be engaged, as any flash flooding event will most likely be very localized. If you are interested in learning more, we encourage you to attend a brief update with the Board of Trustees, which is scheduled for 10 am on Thursday, August 8, 2024. The link to attend virtually is posted in the agenda.
