River Access and Festival Safety Notices

As the 2016 Folk's Festival approaches, the Town wants to remind Festivarians and locals of river access and exit points, the walking route from Bohn Park to Planet Bluegrass, and other safety measures to observe throughout the weekend.
Enjoy the festival!!

All river access and recreation is at users’ own risk!
The river icons noted on the map are access and/or exit points of the river, to
avoid trespassing on private property, fragile restoration areas, and dangerous
construction zones. Please access and exit the river at those points.

PLEASE STAY OFF NEWLY VEGETATED AREAS!
The creek banks are in the process of revegetation, as part of the St. Vrain Creek
Restoration Project, resulting from the 2013 flood. These plants and trees are
crucial for stream restoration and healthy aquatic habitats. Please stay off areas
with plantlings present.

MAIN STREET PARKING
Two (2)-hour parking for patrons only will be enforced on Main Street. A parking map can be found on lyonscolorado.com.

Main St. Streetscape Before and After Concept

Main St. Streetscape

Throughout Wednesday & Thursday, Aug. 17 and 18, crews will be patching curb and gutter on the north side of E. Main and around the marquee island, followed by patching the sidewalks and business parking lots. They will then move to the south side of US-36, to continue preparation of curb and gutter.

Confluence Area CIP

Through the week, crews continue excavating the current streets and prepare for curb and gutter. Curb and gutter installation on Prospect St., Evans St., Park St., and 4th Ave. is anticipated to begin the week of August 22. As planning develops, project teams with be working with residents regarding alternate parking, and additional information will be sent via eblast.

Stream Restoration

The last stretch of the stream restoration project is underway. The stream team anticipates the irrigation system to be running by the end of next week.
Please be considerate of the efforts during this phase, by keeping off exposed lines.

Recycling Center

There has been an influx of items that are not acceptable for the Town's Recycling Center, dumped outside of the bins. Please remember that the Recycling Center can only accept specific items, such as office paper/open mail, corrugated cardboard and brown paper bags.

Boulder County Fire Ban Amended

On Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, Sheriff Joe Pelle amended the fire ban currently in effect. Due to the lower temperatures and recent moisture the fire ban has been amended to allow certain activities to take place that were previously prohibited.

The following developed recreation sites allow fire in constructed, permanent fire pits or fire grates:

• Kelly Dahl Campground
• Rainbow Lakes Campground
• Camp Dick Campground
• Peaceful Valley Campground
• Meeker Park Overflow Campground
• Olive Ridge Campground
• Brainard Lake Recreation Area (Includes Pawnee Campground)
