St Vrain Creek Tubing Ban 

In the interest of public safety, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office has issued a tubing ban along the St Vrain Creek through Lyons. The North Saint Vrain and Saint Vrain Creek will be closed to tubing and single chamber flotation devices for the immediate future

Each year the St Vrain rises in spring and early summer due to snow melt in the mountains. If you are interested in knowing the current rate of flow through town, the best site is the State’s gage station for Lyons. 



LEAF Suicide Prevention Training in Lyons

LEAF & Suicide Prevention Training

Monday, June 10, 2024 12:30 pm-2:00 pm


LEAF is hosting a suicide prevention training on June 10th, 12:30-2:00 pm at Lyons Valley Village Common House (195 2nd Ave., Lyons). The training will be facilitated by LEAF's collaborators at Mental Health Partners. Learn more about suicide, how to identify people who may be having suicidal thoughts, and strategies for preventing suicide. The training is free and open to any area resident.

Our Mental Wellness & Addiction Recovery program provides community-based individual and group services, along with education and outreach, from a compassionate and trauma-informed perspective. Incorporated in 1891, the Town of Lyons has many historically significant buildings, points of interest and a robust history. We have a self guided tour of our historically significant buildings in Lyons in addition to exhibits at the Lyons Redstone Museum.

Sandstone Summer Concerts

Return for the Summer on June 12 

The Sandstone Summer Concert Series kicks off on Wednesday, June 12! The annual Sandstone Summer Concert Series returns on Wednesday evenings this summer.  The series will be June 12 through August 7.

The Denver Municipal Jazz Band will kick off the series on the Raul Vasquez Stage in Lyons Sandstone Park. Did you know they are the oldest continuous playing professional concert band in the USA?

Monday, June 10th

Please Move Vehicles Off Street if Possible During Sweeping Efforts

Street sweeping is scheduled to take place for all Town of Lyons streets beginning on Monday, June 10th  between 5-6 a.m. starting on High Street. The goal for Monday, June 10th and Tuesday, 11th  is to complete the North side of town in this approximate order of areas (hitting all streets in between) moving West to East. 

  • Eagle Canyon Subdivision
  • Vasquez Ct.
  • Vasquez Rd. 
  • Horizon Dr.
  • Steamboat Valley Road
  • 5th Ave.
  • 4th Ave.
  • 3rd Ave.
  • 2nd Ave.
  • Mountain View Drive
  • 1st Ave
  • Kelling Drive

The goal beginning Wednesday, June 13th on Main Street and Railroad Avenue starting at 5-6 a.m. then moving to the South side of Town in the following approximate order of areas (hitting all streets in between) moving East to West:

  • Stone Canyon Neighborhood
  • Lyons Valley Park Neighborhood
  • 3rd Ave.
  • 4th Ave.
  • Confluence Neighborhood
  • Meily St.
  • Prospect St.
  • Ewald St.

Any assistance from residents in parking off street or moving vehicles and removing debris from the curb would be greatly appreciated while these services are being performed. Contractor will not clean or sweep where items are items obstructing the roadway.




Lyons Bustang Service to Estes Park

Bustang Service to Estes Park 

Weekend service has begun


Bustang bus service via Lyons, from Denver to Estes Park announces summer 2024 service.  Tickets are officially for sale! Individuals can learn more about the service and buy tickets on the Bustang site. The Bustang departs from Lyons at 8:30 am and 9:30 am on weekends during the summer.

4ocal Garden Tour

Next weekend on Saturday, June 15, will be the 4th Annual Mountain Blooms Garden Tour. Brought to you by the Lyons Garden Club, the tour of local gardens in Lyons takes place from 9 am - 1 pm on Saturday. Moving at their own pace, participants make their way through 8-10 gardens, from private sprawling flower and butterfly gardens, to intimate vegetable and fruit gardens. Learn more!
