In an effort to keep the Lyons community safe, this year’s Halloween Spooktacular parade has been cancelled, but don’t get too spooked! There is still ghostly fun to be had!
Scarecrow Contest
Think you have the best scarecrow in town? There’s only one way to find out! During the month of October, residences, businesses, and community groups are invited to showcase their best scarecrows, and submit them into the town-wide contest. Submissions will be posted on the Lyons, Colorado Facebook page, and the scarecrows with the most likes (reactions) win!
The deadline to submit entries for the Scarecrow Contest is Monday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m., and voting ends Friday, Oct. 30 at noon. Visit townoflyons.com/scarecrow to enter!
Costume Contest
We KNOW Lyons knows how to costume. The question is, who’s taking the gold this year? Submit your best individual or group Halloween costume photo, to be voted by the people of Facebook – the costumes with the most votes win!
The deadline to submit entries for the Costume Contest is Monday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m., and voting ends Friday, Oct. 30 at noon. Visit townoflyons.com/costume to enter!
The Spooktacular doesn’t stop there! Throughout October, be on the lookout for Halloween Hunts, the haunted courtyard, mighty big pumpkins, and more!
Halloween Treasure Hunts
Throughout town, there are treasures in disguise; can you solve the riddles to earn the prize?
Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, two spooky Halloween treasure hunts will begin - one for younger monsters and the other for older gremlins. Each clue will provide a hint to the location of the next clue. Solve all the clues to find the treasure and claim your prize. The first clue for each treasure hunt will be posted on this page and the Lyons, Colorado Facebook page on Oct. 19 at noon!
Giant Pumpkin
Giant pumpkins have been seen around town,
But there's one in particular that is quite renowned.
On October 26, a new game will start,
I would keep an eye on the pumpkins, if you are smart.
COVID Safety
Maintaining the health and safety of the Lyons community is the Town's top priority. As you make plans for this year's Halloween, please review the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) and the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) guidance for trick-or-treating, masks, and more.
