Bus Route Longmont

RTD BOLT (YL) Route extends to Lyons

Boulder County has partnered with the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to develop this BOLT route extension to increase transportation options between Lyons, Hygiene and Longmont. This route was also developed in conjunction with the Towns of Lyons and Hygiene and the City of Longmont over a multi-month public process including a community-wide survey and Lyons town meeting.

 The characteristics of this route are as follows.

 Route will operate on a standard Monday-Friday weekday schedule.

  1. Route will serve as an extension of the existing Bolt bus route currently connecting Boulder to Longmont.
  2. The route offers four peak direction only trips as follows: 
           *Eastbound trip from Lyons to Longmont. Departure from Lyons Park 'n' Ride (4th Ave. & Broadway) will be at
             approximately 6:37 a.m. and 7:07 a.m. Arrival times in Longmont will be at approximately: 7:45am and 8:45am.

 

           *Westbound trips from Longmont to Lyons. Departing times from Longmont will be at approximately
              4:45pm and 5:45pm. Arrival times in Lyons will be at approximately 5:09 p.m. & 6:19 p.m. 

3. Bus stop locations and signage to be created and installed by RTD. Bus stop locations will be determined by RTD in conjunction with Boulder County.

4. The bus should be routed from Boulder to Lyons via US 36.  From Lyons to Hygiene via CO66 to 75th Street. Hygiene to Nelson Road via 75th Street. Nelson road east to Hover Road. Hover Road north to 9th Avenue . 9th Avenue east to Coffman Street. Coffman south to the 8th & Coffman park-n-Ride (not sure what route to use to reach park-n-Ride from Hover.)  The operations of this route will be provided by RTD with the route expense funded by a combination of Colorado Department of Public Health & Energy (CDPHE) Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) grant and Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) grant awarded to Boulder County.
