Located in the heart of Lyons, Sandstone Park is the home to the Lyons Visitor Center. Take some time to picnic and appreciate the fine sandstone masonry throughout the park. Also, check out the Lyons Mural on the Visitors Center west side, a community art project dedicated in 2003. Be sure to see the many live musical and cultural community performances scheduled throughout the year on Raul Vasquez Community Stage such as the Sandstone Summer Concert Series which can be seen every other Thursday evening throughout July and August at 6:30 P.M.

Raul Vasquez Community Stage The stage in Sandstone Park was built in the summer of 2004 with Colorado Lottery Conversation Trust Fund money in conjunction with the University of Denver School of Architechitecture. The town was honored with a Colorado Lottery Starburst Award in 2005 for this outstanding facility. Named after local business owner, Raul Vasquez, who donated the stone for the facility (as well as stone for many of Lyons other park facilities), the stage provides Lyons a visible location for its multitude of talented local and frequenting featured guests. Special Use Permit Application Picnic Area Sandstone Park provides the perfect roadside setting for a break from the action. Enjoy the music on the stage, picnic with your family or plan an event. Contact the department for further information.
