The Town of Lyons Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Events currently has several Open Space resources. These lands often provide community-wide benefits and are owned and managed by the department and at times in conjunction with other entities. Of the town's complete parkland inventory, approximately 100 acres are dedicated open space. The parts of the parks and recreation inventory considered as open space have few or no developed amenities and are characterized by natural terrain and vegetation. Photos of several examples of such properties are included in the slideshow above (i.e. Lyons Valley Greenbelt, Sierra Roja/Steamboat Valley Playground, Russell Subdivision/Tebo).
