Women's Mountain Biking "Find Your Flow"-June
Former Olympian (and now a Lyons local!) Ann Trombley is bringing her fun teaching style back to our town. Whether you're just starting out or are an intermediate rider, this class promises to improve your technique. Skills covered include neutral ready and braking, wheel lifts, climbing and descending, and cornering at low and high speeds. All participants need to arrive with a mountain bike in good working order, a helmet and a water bottle and dressed for changing weather conditions. Get ready to have a great time on the trails!
Dates: Wednesdays, June 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, 5:30-7:30 pm

Colorado Rockies Game Fundraiser for Lyons Youth Softball and Baseball
Please join us in showing your support for local Lyons youth programs. Bring your family and friends along for a fun-filled evening watching the Colorado Rockies play the San Diego Padres. Lower level seats get you closer to the action and you'll enjoy better views as our local teams join the Pregame Parade around the track. Be sure to watch for the Lyons teams to be acknowledged on the scoreboard during the game.

Fairy House Book Folding
This springtime fairy house is just what you need whether you already have fairies in your home or hope to attract some. We will use paperback books and fold them into lovely fairy homes. After folding and adding a door and a chimney pot, we will decorate the houses with ribbon, buttons and paper flowers. Every fairy in the neighborhood will be wanting to move in! Class is led by Judith Anderson, a book folding artist with years of experience who leads classes for all ages.

Introduction to Book Folding: Beginner’s Heart
Give new life to well read and loved books by folding the book’s pages into works of art! This class will cover how to choose a book for your project, what tools you will need to create a folded book, and how to read a “Measure, Mark and Fold” pattern. You will then mark and fold a book following a “Beginner’s Heart” pattern. This class will include all that you need to launch yourself into a new hobby, or simply create a lovely folded book. Class is taught by book folding artist Judith Anderson. You might remember her lovely creations from the last Holiday Bazaar

Registration for recreational summer league youth softball will be offered by the Town of Lyons Parks and Recreation Department through the Indian Peaks Girls Softball Association for Lyons girls ages 5-18 this year. Anyone interested may register until the March 15th registration deadline. Please specify that you want to be on a Lyons team. Registration costs range from $85 to $143.75 this year depending on age group. If you would like to sponsor a Lyons team please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Registration for recreational summer league youth baseball will be offered through the Longmont Baseball League (LBL) for Lyons boys ages 6-18 this year. Anyone interested must register with the LBL and their staff will do all they can to create teams that consist of all Lyons players. Please request a Lyons coach. This will allow Lyons kids to practice together on the same team here in Lyons with Lyons coaches. If a roster is not filled in a given age group with all Lyons players, then children closest in proximity to Lyons will be used to fill the roster. All games will be played in Longmont this year while Bohn Park Fields are redone. Anyone interested in registering their child, coaching for a Lyons team, sponsoring a Lyons team, or learning more about the league may go to their website at www.Longmontbaseball.org

Challenger Soccer Camp
Challenger Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides your child with lessons in respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership. Camp programs include a free ball and shirt and a free British Soccer jersey for online registrations 45 days prior to camp.

Join Lyons Recreation for another fun-filled class with Lyons local and former Olympian Ann Trombley. Whether you're new to the trails or looking to build on what you already know, Ann has the skills to get you there. The sessions will focus on braking, front and rear wheel lifts, ratcheting, switchbacks, rock dodge, track stands, tight corners and more. Start fresh with this class or build on what you learned in June. Each participant must arrive with a fully functional mountain bike, a helmet and a water bottle and be prepared for changing weather conditions.
Dates: Wednesdays, August 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th; rain day Sept 2nd

Volunteering with the Rocky Mountain Botanical Garden in Lyons
The Rocky Mountain botanical garden committee would like to have young helpers create our new garden! If you and/ or your child would like to be a part of this over the summer, please email Lisa Ramsey at email@example.com to RSVP for how many people are coming.
